Miller's latest project includes a CD, a DVD and a tour. It is called THE STORY and it started with an idea by Rupert Murdoch, the newspaper conglomerate and tycoon. He owns Zondervan, the Christian publisher, and he decided he wanted them to do something special to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible written in 1611. Zondervan, decided that a tremendous amount of regular churchgoers were unfamiliar with many of the best known stories in the Bible, so they came up with a 31 week curriculum for the church, that covered all the ground between Genesis and Revelation. Eventually, Zondervan will sign up 30,000 churches world wide to preach and teach THE STORY.
Max Lucado and Randy Frazee were then asked to write books that were basically novels, covering the Bible stories from Creation to the Second Coming. There are almost fifty pieces of product associated with THE STORY. Miller was asked to put together a musical version of THE STORY. It is written by Nichole Nordeman and Bernie Herms and produced by Bernie and Brown Bannister. It is a double CD (Old Testament/New Testament) and features major characters in the Bible, starting with Adam and Eve through to Paul. It ends with the Second Coming. All the songs are in the first person, so each artist plays the role of a Biblical character. The cast on this album is like a "who's who" of Christian music.
The album features the following artists:
FRANCESCA BATTESTELLI, BLANCA CALLAHAN (GROUP 1 CREW), JEREMY CAMP, LE CRAE, STEVEN CURTIS CHAPMAN, PETER FURLER, AMY GRANT, NATALIE GRANT, MARK HALL/MEGAN GARRETT (CASTING CROWNS), MATT HAMMITT (SANCTUS REAL), DAN HASELTINE (JARS OF CLAY), BRANDON HEATH, MANDISA, BART MILLARD (MERCY ME), LEIGH NASH (SIXPENCE NONE THE RICHER), NICHOLE NORDEMAN, MAC POWELL (THIRD DAY), MICHAEL W SMITH, TODD SMITH (SELAH), MICHAEL TATE (NEWSBOYS), CHRIS TOMLIN, MATTHEW WEST, DARLENE ZSCHECH.
