Our Story

Proper Management was founded by the late Norman Miller in 1985 and quickly became one of the first leading Artist Management companies in Contemporary Christian Music. For more than 30 years, Proper Management has been privileged to partner with the top names in Christian music and has continued to develop one of the most experienced and successful artist/tour management and label services staff in Christian Music. Proper Management strives to offer innovative artist services, including expert and efficient touring strategies, profitable merchandise management, label services, social media messaging, and long-term career development. Proper’s passion is to serve artists and to help them accomplish their dreams and calling. We do this by taking the responsibility for the execution of details, allowing the artist the freedom to focus on crafting their art.

Based in the Nashville area, Proper Management  is committed to cultivating and maintaining significant and strategic relationships with gatekeepers in every area of the music industry and is well versed with all of the major records labels, booking agencies, concert promoters, distribution partners, social media companies, and sponsorship partners.

In addition to managing and overseeing the careers and day to day details of several of the top artists and songwriters in the industry,  Proper Management has a history of producing some of the most successful multi artist and concept tours in Christian music, including The Young Messiah Tour, Child of the Promise Tour, The Story Tour, VeggieTales Live, Winter Jam, and many others.

Above all, the mission of Proper Management is to help advance the kingdom of God through music and live events. It is our desire to operate in a way that would always be “Proper” and worthy of the gospel of Christ (Phil 1:27).
